About this office

The catalogue records a municipal Trade Licensing Office with seat: Český Brod — specifically Městský úřad Český Brod – odbor dopravy a obecní živnostenský úřad — one of the 227 offices competent to process a notification. For an in-person visit, use the office hours on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (exact time ranges differ by day — see the table above), with a lunch break in the schedule. Anyone who does not want to travel can notify a trade licence online via a data box (datová schránka) or the Citizen Portal (Portál občana) for 800 Kč.

How to register your trade here

  1. When to go in person: You can visit in person: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.
  2. Fee: The fee for your first trade registration is 1,000 Kč at the counter, or 800 Kč for an electronic filing.
  3. Or skip the trip: You can also file electronically via a data box (datová schránka) or the Portál občana — www.rzp.gov.cz
  4. What happens next: If your notification meets the requirements, your licence takes effect on the day you file, and you will get the register extract within 5 working days. Full details are in the article Trade registration step by step.

Registering a trade — Středočeský kraj

Středočeský kraj has the densest network of all 14 regions, with 26 municipal Trade Licensing Offices — logically, the ring around Praha also has the most municipalities with extended powers. Municipal Trade Licensing Offices are established by law only at municipalities with extended powers (ORP) — not at every town hall, but at selected offices that also handle the agenda for surrounding municipalities in their administrative district. In this region, they are based specifically in these cities: Benešov, Beroun, Brandýs nad Labem-Stará Boleslav, Dobříš, Hořovice, Kladno, Kolín, Kralupy nad Vltavou, Kutná Hora, Lysá nad Labem, Mladá Boleslav, Mnichovo Hradiště, Mělník, Neratovice, Nymburk, Poděbrady, Praha 2, Příbram, Rakovník, Sedlčany, Slaný, Vlašim, Votice, Český Brod, Čáslav, Říčany. Any of these offices can accept a trade notification regardless of where in the region (or outside it) you have permanent residence or registered seat (sídlo) — the law sets no local competence based on residence. Which municipal office in the region you choose is entirely up to you — all have the same authority to accept a notification regardless of your permanent residence. Apart from an in-person visit, any Czech POINT contact point can also accept the filing and forward it to the competent Trade Licensing Office under § 72 of the Trade Licensing Act. Above the municipal offices stands the regional Trade Licensing Office — in this region it is Krajský úřad Středočeského kraje – Odbor správní a krajský živnostenský úřad (seat: Praha 5). It is an appeal and methodological authority: it decides appeals against municipal office decisions and harmonises their practice, but it does not accept trade notifications themselves — for those, you turn to the municipal offices listed above. Anyone who does not want to travel can also notify a trade licence electronically — via a data box (datová schránka) or the Citizen Portal (Portál občana) for 800 Kč (an in-person filing at an office costs 1,000 Kč).

Frequently asked questions

Is this office a municipal or regional Trade Licensing Office?
This is a municipal Trade Licensing Office that directly accepts and processes notifications. Your authorisation arises already on the day of notification (§ 10 of the Trade Licensing Act), and you receive the extract within 5 working days.
On which days is the office open to the public?
For an in-person filing, allow for office hours on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday (exact time ranges differ by day — see the table above); on some days the office has a lunch break. The precise and current schedule is in the office-hours table above on this page.
Is there an online alternative to this office?
An in-person visit is not necessary. A trade licence can also be notified electronically via a data box (datová schránka) or the Citizen Portal (Portál občana) — the administrative fee is then 800 Kč instead of 1,000 Kč for an in-person filing.
