About this office

Magistrát města Ústí nad Labem – odbor správní a živnostenský (seat: Ústí nad Labem): one of the 227 municipal Trade Licensing Offices that process trade notifications in Czechia. For an in-person visit, use the office hours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (exact time ranges differ by day — see the table above), with a lunch break in the schedule. Do you want to avoid travelling? A trade licence can also be notified electronically — via a data box (datová schránka) or the Citizen Portal (Portál občana) for 800 Kč instead of 1,000 Kč for an in-person filing. The same city also hosts another Trade Licensing Office — a separate office with its own territorial scope, not a duplicate of this one.

How to register your trade here

  1. When to go in person: You can visit in person: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday.
  2. Fee: The fee for your first trade registration is 1,000 Kč at the counter, or 800 Kč for an electronic filing.
  3. Or skip the trip: You can also file electronically via a data box (datová schránka) or the Portál občana — www.rzp.gov.cz
  4. What happens next: If your notification meets the requirements, your licence takes effect on the day you file, and you will get the register extract within 5 working days. Full details are in the article Trade registration step by step.

Registering a trade — Ústecký kraj

Ústecký kraj serves the trade licensing agenda through 16 municipal Trade Licensing Offices; the regional office is based in Ústí nad Labem. Municipal Trade Licensing Offices are established by law only at municipalities with extended powers (ORP) — not at every town hall, but at selected offices that also handle the agenda for surrounding municipalities in their administrative district. In this region, they are based specifically in these cities: Bílina, Chomutov, Děčín, Kadaň, Litoměřice, Litvínov, Louny, Lovosice, Most, Podbořany, Roudnice nad Labem, Rumburk, Teplice, Varnsdorf, Ústí nad Labem, Žatec. Any of these offices can accept a trade notification regardless of where in the region (or outside it) you have permanent residence or registered seat (sídlo) — the law sets no local competence based on residence. Which municipal office in the region you choose is entirely up to you — all have the same authority to accept a notification regardless of your permanent residence. Apart from an in-person visit, any Czech POINT contact point can also accept the filing and forward it to the competent Trade Licensing Office under § 72 of the Trade Licensing Act. Above the municipal offices stands the regional Trade Licensing Office — in this region it is Krajský úřad Ústeckého kraje – Odbor správních činností a krajský živnostenský úřad (seat: Ústí nad Labem). It is an appeal and methodological authority: it decides appeals against municipal office decisions and harmonises their practice, but it does not accept trade notifications themselves — for those, you turn to the municipal offices listed above. Electronic notification via a data box (datová schránka) or the Citizen Portal (Portál občana) is cheaper than filing in person — 800 Kč instead of 1,000 Kč — and does not require visiting any office in the region.

Frequently asked questions

Is this an office where trade notifications are actually filed?
This is a municipal Trade Licensing Office that directly accepts and processes notifications. Your authorisation arises already on the day of notification (§ 10 of the Trade Licensing Act), and you receive the extract within 5 working days.
What public office hours does this office have?
For an in-person filing, allow for office hours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday (exact time ranges differ by day — see the table above); on some days the office has a lunch break. The precise and current schedule is in the office-hours table above on this page.
Is there an online alternative to this office?
The notification can also be filed electronically (data box (datová schránka), Citizen Portal (Portál občana)) for 800 Kč, which is 200 Kč less than an in-person filing — travelling to the office is therefore not mandatory.
What is the exact address of this office?
You will find the office at Velká Hradební 2336/8, 400 01 Ústí nad Labem — the map above on this page shows the precise location.
Does having several offices in the city mean I can choose any of them?
These offices each have their own territorial scope even though they are based in the same city — they are not duplicates. A trade notification is accepted by any municipal Trade Licensing Office in the Czech Republic regardless of residence, so you can choose.
