Regional trade licensing office

Regional appellate and methodological body — you do not register your trade here. Where to file vs. where the office sits.

About this office

Krajský úřad Olomouckého kraje – Odbor majetkový, právní a správních činností: an appeal and methodological office above the region's municipal Trade Licensing Offices, not a place for filing a notification. For an in-person visit, use the office hours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (exact time ranges differ by day — see the table above). If you disagree with a municipal Trade Licensing Office decision, the appeal goes here; the trade notification itself belongs at a municipal office in the region. Olomouc: a municipal Trade Licensing Office is also based here — trade notifications themselves belong there, while this regional office decides appeals against their decisions.

How to register your trade here

  1. When to go in person: You can visit in person: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday.
  2. Fee: The fee for your first trade registration is 1,000 Kč at the counter, or 800 Kč for an electronic filing.
  3. What happens next: If your notification meets the requirements, your licence takes effect on the day you file, and you will get the register extract within 5 working days. Full details are in the article Trade registration step by step.

Registering a trade — Olomoucký kraj

Olomoucký kraj serves the agenda through 13 municipal Trade Licensing Offices; the regional office is based in Olomouc. Municipal Trade Licensing Offices are established by law only at municipalities with extended powers (ORP) — not at every town hall, but at selected offices that also handle the agenda for surrounding municipalities in their administrative district. In this region, they are based specifically in these cities: Hranice, Jeseník, Konice, Lipník nad Bečvou, Litovel, Mohelnice, Olomouc, Prostějov, Přerov, Uničov, Zábřeh, Šternberk, Šumperk. Any of these offices can accept a trade notification regardless of where in the region (or outside it) you have permanent residence or registered seat (sídlo) — the law sets no local competence based on residence. Which municipal office in the region you choose is entirely up to you — all have the same authority to accept a notification regardless of your permanent residence. Apart from an in-person visit, any Czech POINT contact point can also accept the filing and forward it to the competent Trade Licensing Office under § 72 of the Trade Licensing Act. Above the municipal offices stands the regional Trade Licensing Office — in this region it is Krajský úřad Olomouckého kraje – Odbor majetkový, právní a správních činností (seat: Olomouc). It is an appeal and methodological authority: it decides appeals against municipal office decisions and harmonises their practice, but it does not accept trade notifications themselves — for those, you turn to the municipal offices listed above. Travelling to an office can be replaced by an electronic filing via a data box (datová schránka) or the Citizen Portal (Portál občana) — it is 200 Kč cheaper (800 Kč instead of 1,000 Kč).

Frequently asked questions

Can I notify a trade licence at this office?
No. This is a regional Trade Licensing Office — an appeal and methodological authority that does not accept trade notifications. You notify a trade licence at one of the municipal Trade Licensing Offices in the region (the list is in the region offices section above on this page).
When is the office open for in-person filings?
For an in-person filing, allow for office hours on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday (exact time ranges differ by day — see the table above). The precise and current schedule is in the office-hours table above on this page.
What is this regional office for if I cannot notify a trade licence there?
It serves as an appeal body above the municipal Trade Licensing Offices in the region and harmonises their practice. It does not process trade notifications — that belongs at a municipal office.
What is the exact address of this office?
You will find the office at Jeremenkova 1211/40b, 779 00 Olomouc — the map above on this page shows the precise location.
Why are there several Trade Licensing Offices in the same city?
These are separate offices, each with its own territorial scope, which are merely based in the same city — they are not duplicates of one office. A trade notification is accepted by any municipal Trade Licensing Office in the Czech Republic regardless of your residence.
